July 14 – September 2, 2018
Opening reception: Saturday, July 14 at 1PM
Group Walk & Talk – Speaking of Relatives: Thursday, July 19 at 7PM
Does the artistic gene run in the family? Do personal art collections begin with family relations? How do creative relatives form our understanding of visual culture? These are just some of the questions that will arise with It’s all Relative—a community-sourced show related to collecting, creative achievement and family. Every family has a creative member somewhere on the ancestral tree. It could be a painterly aunt, a sculptor brother or a great grandmother who loved to draw. When assembled, this crowd-sourced group display will bring together collected art, heirlooms and stories. Contribute a piece or join us for this enjoyable summer show, as we celebrate artistry and ancestry and gather to share our familial stories on the third Thursday evening of July. Everyone’s welcome.
SG members can submit completed entry form and artwork that responds to the theme, a work created by a distant or immediate family member, with your Station Gallery membership fee (if not already an SG member).
To submit your application, please download and fill out this form and return to Station Gallery between May 22 – June 22, 2018.
