Private: Intro to Encaustic

with Victoria Wallace.

Encaustic is the art practice of painting with pigmented, melted beeswax. This comprehensive encaustic series of four classes will give participants a thorough understanding of the encaustic medium, from the classical to the experimental. Participants will learn how to prep the substrate for encaustic artwork, create and paint with their own encaustic translucencies, fuse, image transfer, incise and inlay, apply transfer foils, and much more. Emerging and professional artists alike will find this class an exciting opportunity to expand their visual vocabularies with wax! *There is a $40 materials fee that will be paid to the instructor on the day of the workshop. *Students bring their own notepads for taking notes.
